CAMBRIDGE — Viking wrestlers can claim local bragging rights for another year, after winning possession of the county championship flag on Friday. C-SD beat visiting North Dorchester High School 52-22 to gain the trophy, which is marked with the years it has spent at either school.

“We wrestle for it, and the winners switch it,” C-SD senior Caleb Crain said.

Rivalries extended from the schools to individual athletes. Viking Zach Peters (113 pounds) won a lively and hard-fought bout edging out ND’s Noe Cervantes 12-11.

“Noe beat Peters pretty convincingly earlier this year,” Vikings’ Head Coach Dan Catron said. “So that was a good comeback win for him.”
