CAMBRIDGE — Viking wrestlers beat an undermanned Wicomico High School team Wednesday, 66-18.
The Indians are in a rebuilding phase after last season’s 6-8 record, and are bringing only a handful of varsity boys to meets. Unable to fill all the weight classes, forfeits allow opponents uncontested points.

Still, C-SD grapplers were successful in five of six matches, as Axavier Spencer (106), Shamar Young (126), Tre Prattis (138), Ahmir Pearce (145) and Malik Jones (heavyweight) all pinned their WiHi rivals. The Indians’ only win on the mat was in the 195-pound class, as Isaac Lawson pinned C-SD’s Danny Erdell.

The Indians had to forfeit the 113, 120 and the 132-pound classes, where Zach Peters, Dawson Betts and Christian James collected wins for the Vikes. The Vikings forfeited 170, 180 and 220.

In junior varsity action, WiHi’s Cade Stone (106) and Wilson St. Surin (126) pinned C-SD’s Mason Brunner and Gus Thomas. In the JV 220-pound class, Viking Zach Lewis pinned Frank Dort.
