C-SD varsity soccer kicks off with a win

CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge-South Dorchester High School soccer team got its 2014 season off to a strong start Monday, with a 6-2 win over the Kent County High School Trojans at Viking Stadium.
“I was very happy with how they played,” Coach David Cherry said after the game.
Dayne Nelson led the Vikings’ attack, with two goals. Aaron Geoghegan, Carter Malkus, Ahmad Dajani and Cole Willey each scored one goal.
In other soccer action, the Vikings boys’ junior varsity team fell to their Kent County rivals, 1-0, while the girls’ varsity lost to the Trojans, 5-0.
Boys’ teams will travel to North Dorchester High School on Monday, with the JV game starting at 4 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m.
The girls will host Easton at Viking Stadium on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
