CAMBRIDGE — Easton High School’s swim team made the trip to Cambridge Tuesday, to take on the Vikings, and came away with two wins. Warrior boys outpaced the home team 110-59, while Easton’s girls beat Cambridge-South Dorchester 130-41.

It wasn’t a bad experience for the Vikings, though, as the young squads improved their skills against talented competition.

“We had some kids do well and not be intimidated by them, but rather try to better their times,” Head Coach Melanie Coleman said. Coach Coleman guides the girls’ team, while Pete Pietras is in charge of the boys.

It’s always tough competing against the Warriors, many of whom swim year round and grow up in an effective program. “I’m sure Easton will walk away with some state titles this year, maybe even a girls’ state title,” Coach Coleman said. “They have a great feeder program and kids that breathe swimming.”

The Vikings will host Stephen Decatur on Tuesday at the Dorchester Family YMCA. Action starts at 3 p.m.
