CAMBRIDGE — It’s been a challenging climb, but the Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Vikings must like the view from the top.

C-SD (9-2 overall, 9-1 division) is leading the North Bayside after Tuesday’s win 69-50 against North Dorchester. North Dorchester fell to 2-11 after the loss.

Moments before the opening tip-off, Head Coach Vic Burns told his men, “Listen, if you hit those offensive boards, you’ll have a field day.”

The Vikes grabbed a quick lead, finishing the first quarter 22-7, led by Emory Wongus’ 7 points. The county rivals turned up the heat in the second period as play became more physical – however, the Vikings’ offense cooled off, as the Eagles held the home team to only 7 more points.

After the halftime break, C-SD’s leading scorer Dre Greene – 16 on the night – took over, and put 9 on the board. Keyshawn Johnson added 12 throughout the game to help keep the Vikings ahead.

North Dorchester’s Jhamere Emory notched 18 for the Eagles, followed by Dajuan Johnson with 12.
