CAMBRIDGE — The 7- and 8-year-old boys of the Cambridge Little League’s machine-pitch team ended their season at a tournament over the weekend with a couple of strong wins and a very close loss to Home Run Baker.

On Saturday, they played three games. First, they played West Salisbury and won 14-1. Next was Berlin, against whom the Cambridge boys lost 10-2.
They wrapped up the day’s action against Milford Maroon with a score of 20-2.

All in all, it was a successful day for the young men. “You make Cambridge Little League proud,” a post online said. “Go Blue!”

Then on Sunday, the boys played their final game of the season.

“Even though it was not a win, the boys played hard and ended the game at 14-13 against Home Run Baker. So close, boys!” a statement from the team said. “We are beyond proud of these boys and the progress they have made as a team. We can’t thank our parents enough for their awesome support and always cheering these boys on. A special thanks goes to our coaches who believed in these boys and always made sure they played for fun. Way to go out with a bang, boys.”
