Koski is charged with attempted murder

SALISBURY — A Hurlock man was arrested July 12 following a fight in which another man was stabbed in the face.

On July 12 at 9:45 p.m., Wicomico County sheriff’s deputies responded to a parking lot in the 6000 block of Hobbs Road for a reported stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival, the deputy located a male subject who was on the ground and bleeding.
During the subsequent investigation, the deputy learned that this victim was reportedly embroiled in an argument about social issues on Facebook with another man. The dispute escalated to meeting in this parking lot in person to hash out the situation, a report from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday.

According to a witnesses, the Hurlock man was observed brandishing a knife. He approached the victim upon arriving in the parking lot and stabbed the victim in the face, the report said.
According to the witnesses, the man then kicked the victim after he fell to the ground while stating, “You thought I was weak.” The victim was transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Ryan Edward Koski, 45, who had left the scene, was taken into custody the following day and charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, assault first degree, dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment. Following an initial appearance in front of the District Court Commissioner, Koski was detained in the Detention Center without bond. Following a District Court bond review, that status remains unchanged.
