CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who is suspected of armed robbery. On Sept. 4 at approximately 9 p.m., Cambridge Police received a call to respond to the grocery store Mercado Latino, at 124 Cedar St.

Upon officers’ arrival, employees in the establishment advised that a man had walked into the store with what appeared to be a rifle. The male demanded money from the employees, a statement from the Cambridge Police Department said. The employees turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect.

A statement Wednesday from the Cambridge Police Department described the man as White, possibly in his early 20s, about 5’8” tall and weighing approximately 225 pounds.

The suspect was operating a white Ford Explorer. The registration is unknown at this time. After retrieving the video surveillance from the store, police determined that the weapon the suspect displayed was an AR-15.

CPD Capt. Justin Todd asked anyone with information on this incident or who can possibly identify the suspect seen in the photo to contact the Cambridge Police Department Criminal Investigations Division by calling 410-228-3333.

There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.
