EAST NEW MARKET — The area Veterans’ Recognition Committee held its 18th annual Veterans’ Tribute to Our Heroes on Sept. 10, at the East New Market Firehouse. The event predates the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and honors all men and women in uniform – military veterans, Red Cross, disaster, firefighters and law personnel.

Many displays both honoring and offering services to veterans were set up at the fire hall, and the program included proclamations, dedications and ceremonies that honored our living vets and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
