CAMBRIDGE – Groove City Studios at 516 Race St. in Cambridge will host local favorite Anna Burgess on Friday night, April 20th, as the second event in their Groove City Music Nights series. The recording studio, which operates in association with WHCP Cambridge Community Radio, began the new Music Nights series with a packed house for Blues Music Award winner John Nemeth and the Blue Dreamers on March 16.

Anna Burgess built her awesome talent at a young age as her music teacher guitar playing dad gave her music lessons while she was growing up. Anna was singing in churches and nursing homes with her father by the age of six, and at nine years old she began playing guitar and writing her own music.

Anna became a professional musician in 2007, playing Americana, folk, rock and original music. She puts a “rockin’ folk twist” on standards, and plays her favorite covers. For a preview of her music, visit Anna Burgess Music on Facebook.

Tickets for the Anna Burgess show are available for $10 each, at www.groovecitystudio.org or at the door the evening of the show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:00.

This is the first event in the Groove City Studios “Give Back to the Community” music series, and a portion of the proceeds from the night’s performance will be donated to a local cause dear to Ms. Burgess’ heart.
