Talisman Jewelry − one day workshop with found artist Karen O’Dowd

Create personalized pendants, earrings, or bracelets from found objects: repurposed tin, watch parts, fuses, jewelry, hardware, and other items from the junk drawers, yard sales, or thrift shop. The result will be unique pieces that are spiritual, sentimental, and filled with an abundance of “heart.”

The workshop will be held Feb. 28, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The cost is $80 for DCA members; $110 for non-members, plus $15 materials fee payable to instructor on the class date. Students should bring a lunch and beverage. Call DCA at 410.228.7782 to register.

DCA receives grants

Dorchester Center for the Arts extends its appreciation to two local foundations that have given to the organization in recent weeks. Special thanks go to the Waddell Foundation and the Jean T. and Heyward G. Pelham Foundation for their generous support of operations at the Center.

“As arts funding is once again being threatened in Maryland, we are so pleased that we have received this support, and are grateful for the generosity of these foundations,” stated Mickey Love, executive director.
