CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Class of 2015 continued the senior tradition of musical theater with performances of “Damn Yankees” Friday through Sunday. The final show, a Sunday matinee, drew a near-capacity crowd to the school’s auditorium.

A prepared statement from Director Mike James and Co-Director Donna James said, “Eighteen years ago, the C-SD Class of 1997 performed ‘Damn Yankees.’ Since then, we have regarded it as one of our favorite senior class plays, performed by one of the most talented classes to ever grace our stage. So, it was with some trepidation that we began the process of reviving this play. But, from the moment this production was cast, there was never a doubt that this class had the ‘Heart’ to make ‘Damn Yankees’ a success.”

The directors were joined by Choreographer Jessica Hindman Wheatley, Musical Director Laura Todd, Vocal Coach Arlinda Barnes, and Stage Manager Natalie Brewer-James.

On the student staff were Producer Paloma Sterrett, Stage Managers Thomas Anderson and Erik Hauge, Choreographer Maddie Watkins, Hair and Makeup Coordinator Sheniell Sinclair and Buttons Dylan Anderson.

Musicians were Conductor/Drums Shelby Clendaniel, Piano Laura Todd, Trombone Craig Dueling, Clarinet and Trumpet Scott Bunting, Guitar Moe Weimer, Bass Gary Barnes, Clarinet and Percussion Kailee Bullock, Baritone Horn and French Horn Jacob Dashiell, Flute Ashley Willey, Tenor Sax Marquis Harbert and Alto Sax Jacob Kruger.

The cast was comprised of Bob Grierson, Erica Doty, Sean Grier, Colleen Hughes, Samoris Bryden-Clarke, Alex Hernandez, Trey Johnson, Paloma Sterrett, Nora Hauge, Thomas Anderson, Markell Pinkett, Jerwan Hayes, Jacob Tieder, Anthony Woolford, Dayne Robinson, Logan Robinson, Carter Malkus, Noah Perry, Jacob McCroy, Garrett Ruark, Trevor North, Dylan Anderson, Kristie Malkus, Erik Hauge, Logan Robinson, Elizabeth Downey, Ben Coleman, Kenny Romain, Ray Brohawn, Jacob Weber, Garrett Ruark, Brett Harris, Tanner Collins, Tyler Wright, Ben Coleman, Noah Perry, Hannah Taylor, Allison Hayton, Maddie Watkins, Shelby Glessner, Lindsey Long, Kelley Schauber, Allison Shenton, Lauren Robinson, Lida Allen, Trejan King, Anna Hyde, Luci Thomas, Maddy Levi, Anna Turner, Katelyn Madsen, Brooks McDuffy, Becca Yockey, Ariel Montgomery, Lexi Newton, Michelle Barnes, Max Marshall.

“Like the cast of ’97, many of your have worked with us since childhood through Drama Camp and A.C.T., which makes this an even more than usually bittersweet moment,” the directors said. “We have watched you grow as performers, crew members and individuals, and we are very proud of all of you. You have all surpassed our expectations.”
