CAMBRIDGE — Local band Blackwater is performing next Saturday night, July 7, at Groove City Studios at 516 Race St. An eclectic blend of funk, rock, reggae, rhythm and bluesgrass, Blackwater combines their influences into an unique and inviting sound. Formed in 2010 in Cambridge, the band consists of Josh Woodard (guitar, vocals), Clay Owens (lead guitar, vocals), Jordon Stanley (drums), and Gary Peterson (bass).

With an ever-expanding array of original songs, and their own versions of not so familiar covers, something new is always to be found with every show. To hear a bit of Blackwater, check out their Facebook page.

This event is another in the “Give Back to the Community” benefit concert series. Blackwater has chosen MidShore Meals til Monday to receive a portion of the evening’s proceeds. On July 20 at 7 p.m., one of the hottest stars in the musical firmament, touring nationally and internationally with his Memphis band, John Németh and the Blue Dreamers return to Cambridge with their FEELIN’ FREAKY tour!

After a sold out concert in Groove City Studio earlier this year, John and the Blue Dreamers will be back to perform at Gallery 447 – at 447 Race St. in Cambridge.

Groove City is delighted to welcome back the Blue Dreamers – Danny Banks on drums, Matthew Wilson on bass and guitar, and Johnny Rhodes on guitar, with tenor Németh, a very accomplished harmonica player, who can boogie with the best of them!

John Németh has established himself among the very top ranks of blues musicians and modern soul singers fearlessly crushing all barriers of style and genre. Drawing from his strong influences in blues and R&B, as well as contemporary sounds in hip hop and rock & roll, John creates music that is personal as well as universal.

His songs are groove and melody-driven, laced with thoughtful lyrics and nuanced humor. Németh has received numerous awards for his musical talents and creativity.
