HURLOCK — On June 1, family, friends, public officials, and Habitat homebuyers, board, staff, and volunteers gathered on Jackson Street in Hurlock, to dedicate the home of Habitat’s 80th homebuyer, Ashley Cephas.

Ashley Cephas has worked hard to get to where she is, and it hasn’t always been easy. She’s a single mom of two daughters, and when her oldest was born prematurely, Ashley had the stress of her daughter’s medical challenges added to her load.

Despite all that, Ashley was able to move ahead, put in her sweat equity hours, save for her closing costs, and take homeowner education workshops. And now, Ashley could not be more excited to be in her own home!

Thank you to all the volunteers, donors, and supporters who helped make homeownership a reality for Ashley, especially her coach, Julie Fox. Julie provided amazing support to Ashley throughout the process.

We’d love to have more partner volunteers like Julie to help future Habitat homebuyers — call the office if you are interested!
Congratulations to Ashley!
