STEM teachers visit ND Middle School

HURLOCK — Two North Dorchester High School teachers visited North Dorchester Middle School last week to discuss STEM opportunities with future high school students. Engineering teacher Rachael Roberts and Project Lead the Way teacher Linda Barnes went to the middle school for their second recruitment assembly.

Ms. Roberts and Ms. Barnes discussed their individual programs, showed examples of projects and activities, and shared the four-year career and technology completer programs.

The NDMS students asked a lot of questions and were given an opportunity to share their interests with the teachers. Ms. Barnes and Ms. Roberts also shared some of the opportunities that result from graduating in one of their programs as well as the incentive of college credits and National Awards, explaining to students that although both programs are fun, they are rigorous as well.
