CAMBRIDGE — A veteran educator has returned to serve youth of Dorchester County.

“If the new principal at Dorchester Career and Technology Center (DCTC) looks familiar, that’s because Anna Howie spent 16 years in Dorchester County Public Schools (DCPS) before her recent two-year interlude in Talbot County,” a statement from DCPS said. “But Ms. Howie is back and ready to rock on for DCTC students!”

Originally a math teacher at Mace’s Lane Middle School, Ms. Howie has served as an Instructional Math Coach, Assistant Human Resources Administrator, Local Area Coordinator, and Supervisor of Math for DCPS and is now Supervisor of Career and Technical Education, as well as DCTC principal.
As for her plans for DCTC, Ms. Howie looks forward to supporting the expansion of the Maryland Apprenticeship Program and more business partnerships, as well as ensuring that younger students are in the know about the great opportunities at DCTC.

“I want to expose elementary students to what’s available in this building, as well Gateway to Technology in middle school,” she said.
“Welcome back to DCPS, Ms. Howie!” a message from the schools said. At DCCTC, students receive skills and knowledge to become successful. Students are provided with resources to help them with their plans, the school’s website says.
