CAMBRIDGE — On Dec. 11, the Early Childhood Department of Dorchester County Public Schools sponsored a celebration for early childhood providers. The Sandy Hill Judy Center helped support the event held at the Board of Education on a Friday afternoon.

Students from Chef Charlene Zinnel’s culinary arts class at the Dorchester Career and Technology Center prepared delicious refreshments.

Invitations were extended to Prekindergarten and Kindergarten teachers from DCPS, Early Childhood Advisory Council members, members of the Dorchester Child Care Association, Shore Up! Head Start, and the new Early Learning/Family Support Center.

There were a variety of books, puzzles, classroom materials, and art supplies for teachers and providers to select and take to use in their early childhood classrooms.

Donations were provided by Barnes and Noble, the Hesson family, community member Nancy Malwitz, the Sandy Hill Judy Center, and Donna Greenleaf.

There was an opportunity for early childhood providers to meet and share ideas and resources; hopefully it will become a holiday tradition!
