CAMBRIDGE — The Class of 2020 at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School and North Dorchester High School participated in the Maryland College Application Campaign from Oct. 21 through 25. The goal of the campaign is to provide support to students and families as they navigate the process of choosing and applying to postsecondary education.

A highlight of the week was the annual FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Night at each school. Students and families were assisted with the FAFSA by senior counselors and school administrators as well as Vera Miles-Heath from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Financial Aid Department.

During the week seniors also took part in a national college fair and participated in fun activities while learning how college can be an option for whatever career they plan to pursue.

The week’s events were overseen by School Counselors Ami Parks (NDHS) and Jessica Collins (C-SDHS) and GearUp Coordinator Wanda Ferguson, with support from principals Jerome Stover (C-SDHS) and Paula Turner (NDHS).
