2016 Americanism Essay Contest winners announced

The Hurlock American Legion Auxiliary announces their 2016 Americanism Essay Contest winners. A recent reception was held to honor 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from Hurlock Elementary, Vienna Elementary, Warwick Elementary, and North Dorchester Middle School.
The winners read outstanding essays, entitled “How do we keep Lincoln’s promise to our veterans and their families?” to a packed audience of parents, grandparents, and school staff. Each winner received a certificate, medal, and cash prize.

Essay winners are listed and pictured below.

North Dorchester Middle: level 2, 6th — first, Pamela Hubbard; second, Curstin Carpenter; third, Ian ledger. Level 3, 8th — first, Ray Johnson; second, Kaylyn Nagel; third, Jake Morton.

Hurlock Elementary: level 1, 3rd/rth — first, Takaila Rich; second, Sage Jones; third, Brayden Smith. Level 2, 5th — first, Bethany Niehaus; second, Evencia Amazon; third, Chris Wolfe.

Vienna Elementary: level 1, 3rd/4th — first, Jaline Graham; second, Maggie Hubbard; third, Landon Green. Level 2, 5th — first, Madison Horsman; second, Madeline Toadvine; third, Ashleigh Piasecki.

Warwick Elementary: level 1, 3rd/4th — first, Luke Gadow; second, Emilee Cohee; third, Mackenzie Lewis.
