CAMBRIDGE — WHCP Cambridge Community Radio is preparing for its annual Sail Into Spring fundraiser, on March 19. This popular event will be held at the Dorchester Center for the Arts at 312 High St. in downtown Cambridge from 6:30 until 10:30. Old Salty’s of Hoopers Island will cater the event, featuring heavy appetizers, a carving station and an oyster bar.
A silent auction featuring artwork, jewelry, vacations, restaurant gift certificates, books, wine, aerial sightseeing, and much more will run throughout the evening. Featured items include a ride on restored B-25 Bomber Panchito out of Georgetown, Del.; a sightseeing ride on a restored 1948 Stinson Voyager; and two VIP tickets to the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival on May 21-22. Two general admission tickets to the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival are available as well!
Unique signature cocktail glasses etched with the WHCP logo will be available at the cash bar. Music will be provided by Bruce Patrick, host for the MidShore Morning Show on WHCP 101.5 FM Monday through Friday.
Tickets are $60 per person and are available online or, by calling 443-637-6000 or at the WHCP studios at 512 Race St. in downtown Cambridge. Proceeds will benefit WHCP’s Media Production Internship Program and the Mid-Shore Reading Service for visually-impaired listeners.
