CAMBRIDGE — There was only a short period of severe weather on Monday afternoon, but Mother Nature made the most of it, as a waterspout was spotted by numerous locals.
The phenomenon — a tornado that touches water rather than land — was seen from Long Wharf, moving east towards the Malkus Bridge. Jay Harrington was eating his lunch at the popular river-side spot, and he snapped a quick pic when he saw the twister.
“Right place, right time, I guess,” he said in a message to the Dorchester Banner.
The waterspout lifted back up quickly. There were no injuries or damage reported.
