Allen Nelson of the CPBRA accepts a check from Robert Collison of the Nathan Foundation. The Cambridge Power Boat Regatta is scheduled for July 25-26.

CAMBRIDGE—Cambridge Power Boat Racing Association (CPBRA) has worked to have a community event, one by and for the community. Thanks, in large part, to the Nathan Foundation’s donation the 2015 edition will run on July 25 and 26 and will again be a world-class event.

CPBRA and The Nathan Foundation have partnered for over 40 years to promote Cambridge Classic boat racing and the positive impact it has on the community. Robert Collison noted in presenting this year’s donation the benefits not only to the local economy, to the social impact of such a large family friendly event, but to the promotion of the area’s tradition.

The Nathan Index of Performance is a unique award recognizing the boat that comes the closest to breaking, or breaks a record by the largest spread. It includes a cash prize and name engraved on a perennial trophy.
