CAMBRIDGE — The Friends of the Dorchester Library invite the public to their annual Holly Jolly Market, held Dec. 12 from 9 am until noon on the ground floor of the Dorchester Public Library, 303 Gay St.

Especially suitable for children shopping for their families and friends, the Market will offer a variety of new and used items at low cost, many $1 or less. Choose from Decorative Holiday Knickknacks, Costume Jewelry, Stocking Stuffers, and a White Elephant Jumble Sale.

The holiday market is combined with the library’s regular monthly used book sale, which is open from 9 am-2 pm.
Shop for the whole family! Need something for dad? How about a book on military history or woodworking? How about the kids? We have a great selection of children’s and young adult books, as well as science fiction and fantasy. What about the cook or the gardener of the family? Cookbooks and gardening books galore! Need something for your coffee table? We have beautiful Art books, plus photography, nature, travel, and geography. Give someone a head start on their New Year’s resolutions to get healthy. Choose from a variety of health, wellness, self-help, exercise, and weight loss selections.

There is also a good collection of local and regional culture and history, as well as biographies, classics, philosophy, poetry, and more. And of course we have all of your favorite fiction authors in hardback and paperback, most items a dollar or less. Several local authors will be on hand to chat and sign their books.
