CAMBRIDGE — The Heart of Chesapeake Country Heritage Area is seeking nominations for members to its Management Board. The Heritage Area’s mission is to protect and to promote Dorchester County’s historical, cultural and natural resources, and to strengthen economic development through heritage tourism.

Board members help administer two grant programs that assist local organizations and municipalities to engage in projects related to heritage tourism. The board also presents annual awards to recognize the achievements of community members and groups who preserve, promote, or advocate for heritage resources and tourism.

Responsibilities for this three-year term include attending nine meetings per year, reviewing and recommending grant applications for funding, serving on committees as needed, and supporting heritage tourism events and endeavors in the county.

Nominations should include information about the nominee’s interests, experience, and potential contributions as a board member. Nominations should be submitted by letter or e-mail no later than Dec. 11, 2015, to: Heart of Chesapeake Country Heritage Area, 2 Rose Hill Place, Cambridge, MD 21613 or Ceres@visitdorchester.org.
