Deadline approaches to mail Cambridge ballots

CAMBRIDGE – The Post Office had received 1,490 ballots for Cambridge runoff elections as of Nov. 18. City Council seats from Wards 2 and 3, as well the mayor’s post, are being contested.

Citizens should mail their ballots in by this Saturday to reduce the risk of not arriving in time, a statement from City Manager Patrick Comiskey said.  It typically takes 3 business days to process the mail and the Thanksgiving Holiday is this week.

The polls will be open on Dec. 1 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and anyone in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.  The election site is Chesapeake College at 418 Race St. and voters will enter the building from the rear entrance of the building, just as the last election.

Any citizen who needs assistance or has a question about the election may call the election Hotline at 410-228-8970.
