CAMBRIDGE — Elks Lodge 223 presented Young Life Dorchester with a generous contribution of $2,000 to support Young Life programming. Young Life utilizes adults who are concerned enough about young people to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don’t happen overnight — they take time, patience and trust to win the right to be heard. The mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ, help them grow in their faith, connect them with a local congregation and support the development of skills, assets and attitudes for youth to reach their full God-given potential.

During the last fiscal year the Elks Lodge donated over $130,000.00 to 501 C-3 charitable organizations, churches and educational organizations in the Dorchester County and surrounding areas. Up to this time the Lodge has donated $36,400.00 to churches, schools, and other 501 C-3, organizations. Groups and organizations who are 501 C-3 can request support for worthwhile proposals by sending in requests along with their federal tax ID # to the Charity Committee, Dorchester Elks Lodge #223, 618 Pine St., Cambridge, MD. 21613.
