BREAKING NEWS: New Dover Bridge is open

PRESTON – The new Dover Bridge opened to traffic early this afternoon. The state’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place tomorrow at 11 a.m.

The ceremony will complete a years-long project to replace the original swing bridge, which had been in poor condition. The new structure has a high clearance, allowing vehicles to pass unimpeded – there is no swing arm.

The Banner will have full coverage and photos in next week’s print addition. We thank Jim Phelps for the video.
