CAMBRIDGE — The Groove City Black Heritage and Culture Group will host a two-day event “Christmas on Pine” on Dec. 19 and 20 from 5-7 p.m. on both days. This family-friendly event will be held on the 700 block of Pine Street at the corner of Wells Street.

To make the holiday season bright and soulful on Pine Street, volunteers will light up the trees and decorate the area with a Christmas ensemble and provide soulful Christmas music by DJ GetDown and friends. A hot chocolate bar by ABAR Inc. will be setup to help keep families warm. “Mrs. Claus and the elves will be on site to guide through this blissful night,” a statement from organizers said.

On both days, organizers will raffle two adult gift baskets and some other items. Proceeds from the raffle will support future events and activities.
There will be a drawing to win a Turkey Dinner basket loaded with all the fixings and a dessert. Just enter your name and number onsite or when we go live on Facebook. The winners will be announced on Dec. 20.

Also on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., N’Praize Youth Choir of St. John Holiness Church in Cambridge will lift our spirit with Christmas songs to glorify and magnify the holiday season. At 6 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive with gifts for the children.
“We are grateful for the support we have received from the Cambridge Arts and Entertainment District and the Maryland State Arts Council,” the statement said.

“Christmas on Pine” will be one of Groove City Black Heritage and Culture Group’s signature events.
