Nazarene Services

The Oldfield Church Creek Community Improvement Association will be having their Annual Memorial Day Service on May 26 at Vaughn Chapel located on Old Field Road in Church Creek. The service is at 3:30 p.m. The guest preacher is the Rev. Lena Dennis from Baltimore. Rev. Dennis is the pastor of John Wesley UMC in Glenn Burnie. The public is invited. Vaughn Chapel has been serving the Church Creek community since 1894. William Jarmon is the president.

Sister to Sister
Sister to Sister is a women’s ministry of the New Life Christian Church and Ministries. The ministry meets the 2nd Saturday of every month with a themed event for food, fellowship and/or prayer. There is no charge and all are welcome.

Men’s Breakfast

52nd Anniversary
The Lillian Hollis Singers of Bethel AME Church, Cambridge will be celebrating their 52nd Anniversary at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The message will be delivered by the pastor, the Rev. Randolph Fitchett. The president is Darlene Jones. The public is invited.

Homecoming at Waugh
Waugh Chapel will be celebrating its 47th Annual Homecoming/ Community Day on Sunday, at 10 a.m. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. John Moore, orator and messenger of the Dr. Martin Luther King dream. The theme for the day is “The Kingdom of God.”
Organizations and persons who have supported Waugh’s outreach to the community will be recognized. Please join Pastor James C. Whittaker and the Waugh congregation for a day of praise and fellowship. Co-chairpersons for this occasion are Charlene Cephas and Glenn Ford Jr.

Fish Fry
Mt. Pleasant UM Church, 4202 Maiden Forest Road, will have a Fish Fry and Flea Market from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 27.

Jesus
Zion Baptist Church Pastor’s Aide Ministry is sponsoring a bus trip to Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. to see the play “Jesus,” on Aug. 8.
Tickets are $150 for an adult; $95 for children 12 and under which includes travel, entry and dinner after the play.
Bus will depart from Zion Baptist, 600 Cross St., Cambridge at 10:30 a.m. and return at approximately 10 p.m.
A payment plan is available for those that need as follows: a non-refundable deposit of $50 by May 18 with the balance due by June 22.

Zion Sale
Zion UMC, 612 Locust St., Cambridge will be having their annual Indoor Spring Yard Sale beginning at 8 a.m. on June 1.
There will be a large variety of gently used and some new items, including housewares, clothing, books, and much more.
