CAMBRIDGE — With the closing of the school year comes a need for summer programs for the youth of Dorchester County and for over 40 years the Open Bible Church and Academy has been fulfilling that need.

During the summer from the middle of June through the end of August, Pastor Steve Bloodsworth and the staff of the Open Bible Academy provide care and Christian guidance for more than 50 day campers who attend the summer program five days a week.

Recently the Care and Share Fund of Dorchester County made a donation to the program as part of their community outreach to support the well-being and education of the local youth.

Pictured above are the kids of the Open Bible Summer Program along with Dave Cannon, president of the Care and Share Board of Directors and Pastor Bloodsworth, center, receiving the donation.

Donations such as these are made possible by the 20th annual Santa Swim sponsored by Care and Share and held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort Spa and Marina in Cambridge. This years swim will be held on Dec. 14.
