50th Anniversary Choir reunion

CAMBRIDGE — Mt. Hope Youth Choir will celebrate its 50th Annivesary Reunion at 5 p.m. On Aug. 4 at the New Life Christian Church and Ministries, 923 Phillips St.

Coming from the north, south, east and west — former members of the Mt. Hope Youth Choir will reunite after 50 years to fellowship and sing the Songs of Zion!

The Youth Choir originated under the directorship of Bishop Weldon M. Johnson, former member and Minister of Music of Mt. Hope AME Zion Church in Princess Anne. Mt. Hope Youth Choir consisted of close family and neighborhood friends who shared a genuine love for God and each other. Their passion and enthusiasm was felt in the music they created and sang!

“The program will highlight songs from the past with musicians and singers uniting their voices and talents once again to sing of God’s goodness and reminisce over the many wonderful experiences shared over the years.

“Revive the Passion … Share the Joy is the theme of this year’s reunion as old friendships will be rekindled and new ones strengthened. This is an exciting event you can’t afford to miss. The public is invited to come and be uplifted by this powerful worship experience!
