SALISBURY — Maryland Capital Enterprises (MCE) received a $2,500 donation from M&T Bank to support the Palmer Gillis Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The goal of the award has been to raise awareness about entrepreneurship and recognize the risk takers. Three finalists from over 17 nominees from Four Lower Shore counties have been chosen. The winner will be announced at MCE’s Awards Banquet this Thursday at Salisbury University.

The three finalists include: Lisa M. Brooks, pharmacist and owner of Clayton’s Pharmacy in Cambridge, Christopher Eccleston, president of Delmarva Veteran Builders in Salisbury, and Walter Moore, president and CEO of APPI Energy which were selected by a panel of judges comprised of Eastern Shore business professionals and civic leaders.

This is the fourth year of the prestigious award named after Palmer Gillis, founder of local, general contracting firm, Gillis Gilkerson, which has been responsible for developing properties on the Lower Shore for over 30 years. Gillis is a model entrepreneur with his notable business success.

Tickets are still available for the banquet. Contact Denise at 410-546-1900.
