ANNAPOLIS — Dormaim Green, associate broker, with Exit on the Bay in Cambridge, was among the graduates from the Maryland REALTORS 18th annual Leadership Academy honored at ceremonies held recently in Annapolis.

The Maryland REALTORS® Leadership Academy was formed by REALTORS® who understand the key role they play in their community and the need to enhance the leadership skills, knowledge, and competencies of fellow REALTORS® interested in making a difference in their personal lives and in their communities.

Dormaim Green, president-elect of Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS was one of 16 local REALTOR® Associations in Maryland; she is a strong advocate for this program and recognizes the importance this training will be for her future as a leader in the association, according to a release.

The Maryland REALTORS® Leadership Academy offers an intensive curriculum designed to develop skills in leadership, communications, strategic planning, legislative and government affairs, and community involvement. Classes are conducted over 7-months and stress the value of professional and personal commitment to business, charitable and civic endeavors.

Mrs. Green is active in her community and with Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS. Mrs. Dormaim will be president of the Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS this fall and was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2010. She has over 10 years of REALTOR experience and has obtained designations in Certified Distress Property Expert (CDPE) and Certified Dispute Resolution Specialist (CDRS). She is on the local association membership committee and on the state Housing Affordability and Communications & Public Relations committees.

Strong in community service, Mrs. Green was awarded in March the 2018 Black Living Legends Community Award for her leadership role in GirlTrekkers. She is a member of the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Professional Women, on the Cambridge Board of Zoning and Appeals, Director with Cambridge Main Street and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity Choptank, Dorchester/Talbot SCORE Program and Founder and CEO of the Girlfriends Care and Share Foundation.

“Today we honor you as future leaders in communities and within our REALTOR® organization and thank you for your willingness to step into a leadership role,” said 2018 President Boyd Campbell. He added, “you have already achieved so much.” David Charron, Bright MLS chief strategy officer addressed the graduates and guests. Mr. Charron told the graduates, “the path of leadership is crooked and dormant until it happens…things that don’t make sense get disrupted and that’s when leaders emerge.”

Mrs. Green is a Cambridge native, where she and her husband, Elbert, and their 13-year-old son currently live.

The Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS® is comprised of over 400 REALTORS® and Affiliates from Caroline, Dorchester and Talbot counties.
