CAMBRIDGE — Merchants in downtown Cambridge again this year host the 3rd annual Shop & Win! Promotion which thanks shoppers for helping to support local businesses during the holiday season.

For every $20 spent at participating businesses like Sunnyside Shop, Honey Bee Trading, The Blue Awning, Black Water Bakery, Calista’s Boutique, Heart of Dorchester Antiques, Butterfly Boutique, Artisan Gourmet, Downtown Frame of Mine, Confetti, Thomas’s Fine Jewelry, Jewelry by Cottage Studio, The Wine Bar and more — shoppers are entered to win prizes including three grand prizes! For the most up-to-date list of participating businesses, visit Downtown Cambridge online at downtowncambridge.org.

The Shop & Win promotion kicked off on Black Friday and ends Second Saturday Dec. 8. At 8 p.m. on Dec. 8, Downtown Cambridge will draw the prize winners for three grand prizes in Cannery Way. Cannery Way is located between Honey Bee Trading and Tim Hunt Insurance in the 400 block of Race Street.

Second Saturday is always a favorite with its Old Fashioned Christmas theme. Catch a carriage ride from Simmon’s Center Market, hear “pop up” carolers in downtown shops, listen to a special holiday recital by students of Ann Watts at 447 Race St., and visit with Santa!

Black Water Bakery hosts The Ginger Cats 6 – 8 p.m. and stays open late like many other shops! Special Second Saturday shopper prize drawings will also take place at 8 p.m. in Cannery Way. Most Second Saturday events and receptions are hosted between 5-8 p.m.

This year downtown is also hosting a special Downtown Santa Trail event on Dec. 15. Follow Santa’s trail through downtown, where you’ll encounter activities, treats, and a clue to Santa’s next stop. We are receiving reports from Santa now with his plans for the 15th so stay tuned for more information!
