Cambridge Chick-fil-A will open Feb. 13

CAMBRIDGE — Chick-fil-A has selected Christian Albert as the franchise owner of Cambridge’s first Chick-fil-A restaurant opening Feb. 13.

Mr. Albert will oversee day-to-day activities of the business, employing approximately 100 team members to serve guests, while continuing to cultivate relationships with local schools, organizations and neighboring businesses.

Located at 705 Cambridge Marketplace, the restaurant will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday. It will feature double-ordering lanes merging into a single payment lane and environmentally controlled canopies for guest face-to-face ordering with upwards of 200 cars through the drive-thru in an hour. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant has dining room seating for 114 with a 20-seat patio outside, as well as an indoor children’s playground and free Wi-Fi for guests.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Mr. Albert at age 14, began working as a Team Member alongside his sister at the Chick-fil-A at White Marsh Mall in Baltimore County. He later earned a degree in hospitality management from Widener University.

After graduation, Mr. Albert became a food service director with the Navy as a civilian in Virginia for six years. He then expanded that service to his country by starting the defense consulting firm, Coda Solutions, where he served as CEO for more than five years.

He then decided to return to where his love for the hospitality industry began and pursue becoming a Chick-fil-A operator. Becoming a Chick-fil-A franchise owner is no small feat, as the company receives nearly 60,000 applications yearly for approximately 100 franchise opportunities. In December 2019, Mr. Albert’s dedication to the brand was awarded when he was chosen to operate the new Cambridge location.

“I am committed to applying Chick-fil-A’s core principles of serving guests through remarkable hospitality and fresh, hand-crafted food,” Mr. Albert said in a statement to the Banner. “I look forward to providing my Team Members an exciting and fun place to work, with growth opportunities in a family-like atmosphere.”

In 2019, the chain’s Remarkable Futures initiative awarded $15.3 million in scholarships to more than 6,000 Team Members, bringing the total to more than $75 million since 1973. This year, scholarships will be awarded once again in two categories of $2,500 and $25,000, and will be based on leadership, community involvement, and academic achievement.

A third category provides all Team Members with access to tuition discounts, grants and other educational benefits at more than 100 colleges and universities across the country. Additional details can be found at
